The Tales of Bay Area Trails
I hope you can join me for this very fun event (Zoom presentation) sponsored by the San Mateo Libraries. Open to everybody!
Every place has a story. Knowing that story can make a hiking adventure even better!
Our trails embody incredible history here in the Bay Area. You can walk where Native Americans once brought tule boats ashore after fishing. Or where burly lumberjacks once chased escaped criminals through the redwoods. Where iconic movie scenes were filmed. Where once-thriving towns have returned to wild lands. Where hard-fought battles for land conservation were fought. Where native and non-native plants forge an ecological battle. And where fantastic ghost tales are abundant. Add adventure, intrigue and time travel to your next hike. Please join us and Linda Hamilton, author of multiple Bay Area hiking books and Camping Activity Book for Families, to hear the Tales of Bay Area Trails!
Hiking and Forest Bathing on the Peninsula Presentation
Sponsored by the San Mateo County Libraries, I look forward to a lively Zoom discussion and Q&A about some of the best hiking on the peninsula and writing a hiking guide! It’s an honor to be a panel that includes the Bay Area Hiker, Jane Huber and Forest Therapy, Guide Denise Sacks.
Description
Join local authors of hiking books as they discuss their favorite hikes on the Peninsula, the process of writing a hiking book, how to encourage reluctant hikers to hit the trail with you and so much more. We are honored to bring you Jane Huber, author of 60 Hikes Within 60 Miles, San Francisco and creator of Bay Area Hiker as well as Linda Parker Hamilton, author of Hiking the San Francisco Bay Area, Camping Activity Book for Families and other great San Francisco-area hiking books.
We're also very excited to be joined by Denise Sacks, certified Forest Therapy Guide with Soul Turning in Mountain View, who will share the healing power of forest bathing and how it differs from your standard hike. Time will be available for questions and answers, and we'd love to learn about some of your favorite hikes in the area!
